How to sell used items quickly
Speed on classifieds comes from photos, a realistic price, and a meetup window — not from posting the same ad ten times.

Items that sell in a few days share a pattern: one honest price, four decent photos, and a sentence about when you can meet. Items that linger usually have a catalogue shot, a round ‘best offer’ price with no context, and ‘serious buyers only’ in the title.
Choose what is actually worth listing
If replacement cost is lower than the time to photograph, write, and meet, donate or recycle. Classifieds reward items people still want: phones, furniture in usable condition, working appliances, complete toy sets, tools.
Price to move, then hold
Search your city for the same item first. Sit slightly under the average of ads that have been up less than a week — those are the ones still competing. If you are not in a hurry, say so and stay closer to the top of the range.
Answer the first questions fast
- Reply the same day. Most buyers message two or three sellers and take the first clear yes.
- Offer two concrete meetup slots rather than ‘anytime’.
- If it is sold, mark it sold. Ghosted ads waste everyone’s search results.
