Online classified safety tips for buyers

As a buyer you control the meetup place and the moment money moves. Use both.
Buyer checklist
- Public, daytime meetup.
- Test the item before paying.
- Do not send copies of ID ‘for verification’ to a new account.
- If the story of why it is so cheap keeps changing, leave.
Overpayment and fake-payment scams
Anyone who ‘accidentally’ overpays and wants a refund, or sends a screenshot of a bank app, is running a script. Cash or a method you can reverse only after you have the goods is the boring option on purpose.
